
What is Primary Care Alberta(PCA)?
As the Government of Alberta announced, Alberta is transitioning to four new health authorities with province-wide mandates, replacing the former Alberta Health Services (AHS). The four new agencies are Recovery Alberta (mental health and addiction), Primary Care Alberta (Primary care), Acute Care Alberta (hospital and urgent care), and Assisted Living Alberta (Continuing and long-term care).
What does Primary Care Alberta (PCA) do?
- Coordinates primary health care across the province
 - Ensure access to a primary care
 - Supports integrated teams
 - Enhances the system by implementing provincial standards and improving the quality of care.
